On   the  eve     of    Sunday    20^th   May,  2018,  A  gang  of  robbers   attacked    Tonimas  Filling  StationIn   Iruowelle    Village   at  the  early  hours  of  the   day  and  carter  away  with  the  sum  of ₦176,000, Cartons  of  Engine  oil and Beverages, used  Laptops  and  phones  belonging to the Staff and Management of Tonimas LTD. It was discovered that they broke into the building  through the back of the Filling Station,  demolished the back windows, broke down the  protectors and robbed  the entire offices.  

awkaetititown.com.ng gathered   that  there   were  two other  places  that  were  robbed  that same night and there was  no  Security Personnel on ground as at when the incident took place. Speaking to the manager of the Filling Station Mr. Mathias Nwaenyi he revealed  that  they  found  out  what  happened  in  the morning  when  they resumed work and  they  discovered  that  the  office  was broken from the back of the building.

 A fourth  night  later,  another  robbery  operation   was  faulted   by  the  Vigilante  Group  at Olikeze’s  compound  where  the  said  gang  was  robbing  before  the  interception of  the Security Agents.On sighting the Vigilante Group, the robbers made attempt to escape but one of them was apprehended by  the  Security Agents  and sent to Nnobi Police Station for interrogation  and investigation.

Information reaching awkaetititown.com.ng  said  that  the suspect Chinedu Ofokogu, 18 years old boy from Oraukwu Town  confessed  to  the  act and  is aiding  the   police to track down his gang in Oraukwu Town where they came from to meet their syndicate in Awka Etiti to carry out the operation. He said their meeting point  used to be in a particular bar in Iruowelle where many of them hangs out during the day.
